Israel to Join Cairo Talks for Ceasefire and Hostage Deal: Updates from Hamas Negotiations

Israel, Cairo talks, ceasefire, hostage deal, Hamas negotiationsAn Israeli delegation is set to attend talks in Cairo regarding a potential ceasefire and hostage deal, according to an Israeli official speaking to CNN. The delegation’s arrival is expected on Sunday, coinciding with Hamas’ own delegation led by senior official Khalil Al Hayya.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remarked earlier in the day that Hamas’ demands aimed to end the conflict while preserving the group’s structure. Netanyahu emphasized that any truce must involve the return of hostages and reiterated Israel’s readiness for a negotiated settlement while refusing to capitulate.

Netanyahu expressed confidence in Israel’s military efforts, stating that victory in the Gaza Strip was imminent, citing the destruction of 19 out of 24 of Hamas’ battalions.
